How Our Service Works

VPR Pharmacy dispenses medicines only against a valid private prescription. We do not accept online orders, and this website is for information purposes only.

Turnaround Times

We aim to process and dispense prescriptions within 24 hours after receiving the original prescription.

If We Cannot Supply Your Prescription

Occasionally, we may be unable to supply a prescribed medicine.

This may occur if:

  • The prescription is not legally valid.
  • Further clarification is required from the prescriber.
  • The medicine is temporarily unavailable.
  • There are clinical or legal concerns regarding the prescription.

If this happens, we will contact the prescriber and/or the patient as appropriate to discuss the available options.

If you have any questions about your prescription or our dispensing process, please contact our pharmacy team during our opening hours.

Step 1 – Your Prescriber Issues a Prescription

Your private prescriber should issue a valid private prescription for your treatment.

We accept original paper private prescriptions sent by post only.

Please ensure your prescription is sent to:

Step 2 – Prescription Receipt and Verification

When we receive your prescription, our pharmacy team will verify that it complies with all legal and professional requirements. This includes confirming that the prescription has been issued by an appropriately qualified prescriber and contains all the information required by law.

If we need further information or clarification, we will contact the prescriber before dispensing any medicines.

Step 3 – Clinical Check

Every prescription is clinically reviewed by a registered pharmacist. We check that the prescribed medicine is appropriate, legally valid, and safe to supply based on the information available.

If there are any concerns regarding the prescription, we will discuss these with the prescriber before proceeding.

Step 4 – Dispensing Your Medicines

Once all legal and clinical checks have been completed, your prescription will be dispensed by our qualified pharmacy team using approved Standard Operating Procedures to ensure accuracy and patient safety.

Step 5 – Delivery

Your medicines will be securely packaged and dispatched using an appropriate delivery service within 24 hours of receipt of prescription. Where required, deliveries will require a signature on receipt.

If your medicine requires special storage or temperature controlled transport, appropriate arrangements will be made to maintain its quality during delivery.
